| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Rev. Joseph G. Arrington Jr. of Rock | 4 | | Island, who passed away on June 18, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington was born in Lake Providence, | 6 | | Louisiana to Joseph Sr. and Fannie (Casson) Arrington on March | 7 | | 12, 1927; he served in the United States Army Air Force and the | 8 | | United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean War; | 9 | | he married Wilma F. Kimmins on April 16, 1966; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington was the pastor of Derrick's Temple | 11 | | Church of God in Christ for 16 years; he also was a truck | 12 | | driver for Watt's Disposal in Rock Island for over 30 years; | 13 | | and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington was a member of New Birth of | 15 | | Victory Temple Church of God in Christ; he enjoyed sports, | 16 | | fishing, hunting, and spending time with family, especially his | 17 | | grandchildren; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington was preceded in death by his | 19 | | parents and his son, James Arrington; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Arrington is survived by his wife, Wilma; his |

| 1 | | children, Joyce (Garry) Bogguess, Krine (Willie) Arrington | 2 | | Lagrone, Vernice (Andre) Johnson, Simone (Moses) Woods, Andre | 3 | | Kimmins, David Wires, Eric (Tina) Wires, Joseph (Sarah) | 4 | | Arrington III, Loren (Briana) Arrington, and Matthew | 5 | | Arrington; and a host of grandchildren and | 6 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Rev. Joseph G. Arrington Jr., and extend our sincere | 10 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 11 | | him; and be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Rev. Arrington as an expression of | 14 | | our deepest sympathy.
