| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ronald E. Derrer of rural Milan, who | 4 | | passed away on May 25, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Derrer was born in Stephenson County to | 6 | | Russell and Leonore Weidman Derrer on September 3, 1937; he | 7 | | graduated from Carroll High School and served in the United | 8 | | States Army, primarily in Korea; he was united in marriage to | 9 | | Ellen Eberle on November 23, 1958; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Derrer and his wife first farmed with his | 11 | | parents, east of Mt. Carroll; he was the third generation of | 12 | | raising, milking, and showing Registered Holstein cattle; | 13 | | after selling the dairy herd, he became a beef and crop farmer; | 14 | | he retired from farming in 2002 and moved to Milan to be closer | 15 | | to his family; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Derrer enjoyed watching his granddaughter | 17 | | in her many activities; his greatest love was making memories | 18 | | with his children and his granddaughter; he and his wife | 19 | | traveled to almost all 50 states and eight other countries; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Derrer was a member of the Edgington | 21 | | Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon; |

| 1 | | he was also a member of the Rock Island Country Farm Bureau; he | 2 | | enjoyed being with his coffee friends at the Reynolds Feed | 3 | | Store, McDonald's, and the Friday night group; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Derrer was preceded in death by his parents | 5 | | and one brother; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Derrer is survived by his wife, Ellen; his | 7 | | daughter and son-in-law, Ronda (Dan) Brown; his son and | 8 | | daughter-in-law, Rod (Julie) Derrer; and his granddaughter, | 9 | | Rylee Marie Derrer; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Ronald E. Derrer, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Ronald Derrer as an expression of | 17 | | our deepest sympathy.
