| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Freddie Tegel of Waukegan, who passed | 4 | | away on May 29, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel was born in Waukegan on February 28, | 6 | | 1927 and resided there his entire life; he graduated from | 7 | | Waukegan High School; he was a Private in the United States | 8 | | Army, 304th Operations Signal Battalion in Japan starting on | 9 | | May 7, 1945 through December 15, 1945, when he received his | 10 | | Honorable Discharge; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel was a Lieutenant on the Waukegan | 12 | | Fire Department and retired after over 28 years of service; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel was a past member of Mother of God | 14 | | Church and Queen of Peace and attended St. Anastasia; he was a | 15 | | member of the North East Illinois Retired Firefighters | 16 | | Association, SNPJ (Slovenic National Home), and the Loyal Order | 17 | | of the Moose; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel was preceded in death by his wife, | 19 | | Frances; his brother, Stan; and his parents; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Tegel is survived by his son, Don (Julie) |

| 2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 3 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 4 | | Freddie Tegel, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 5 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 6 | | further
| 7 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 8 | | presented to the family of Freddie Tegel as an expression of | 9 | | our deepest sympathy.
