| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Gerald C. Bloomberg of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on April 10, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Bloomberg was born in Galesburg to Clarence | 6 | | A. and Jeanette E. Wongstrom Bloomberg on February 15, 1923; he | 7 | | served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and | 8 | | married Edythe N. Petersen on October 21, 1950; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Bloomberg worked in the service department | 10 | | at Deere and Co. for many years, retiring in 1982; he was also | 11 | | employed by Augustana College for a time; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Bloomberg was a member of Trinity Lutheran | 13 | | Church in Moline; the Doric Lodge AF & AM in Moline; the | 14 | | Scottish Rite & Coordinate Bodies, Valley of Moline; the | 15 | | Independent Order of the Vikings in Moline; and American Legion | 16 | | Post 246; he was a former member of the Kaaba Shrine in | 17 | | Davenport, Iowa; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Bloomberg was preceded in death by his | 19 | | wife, Edythe; his parents; his sister, Janis Briggs; his | 20 | | brother, Wayne in infancy; and his nephews, Steven and Thomas | 21 | | Briggs; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Bloomberg is survived by his children, | 2 | | Lynne E. (Larry) Anderson and Terry L. Brown; his | 3 | | grandchildren, Kelley (Maurice) Arnold, Todd Brown, and Jenny | 4 | | Brown; and his great-grandchildren, Allyna, Landry, and Logan | 5 | | Arnold and Aiden, Mac Kinsy, and Karsen Brown; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Gerald C. Bloomberg, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
