| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Roland Gross of East Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on April 3, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Roland Gross was born in Davenport, Iowa to Albert | 6 | | and Mary Schmeil Gross on September 26, 1933; he served as a | 7 | | Corporal in the United States Army from June of 1953 until May | 8 | | of 1955; he married Marcella Theresa Stuttgen in Minneapolis, | 9 | | Minnesota on November 30, 1957; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Roland Gross worked as a truck driver for ABF | 11 | | Freight; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Roland Gross was a member of the Teamsters Union | 13 | | and the American Legion; he loved telling stories and jokes, | 14 | | westerns, and casino bus trips; he especially loved spending | 15 | | time with his family and seeing his grandchildren; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Roland Gross was preceded in death by his parents | 17 | | and his sister; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Roland Gross is survived by his loving wife, | 19 | | Marcella; his sons, Scott (Mai Anh) Gross, Brad (Joni) Gross, | 20 | | and Rod (Elaine) Gross; his daughters, Terri Warden and Roxanne |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Roland Gross, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 7 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to the family of Roland Gross as an expression of our | 10 | | deepest sympathy.
