| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Paul Wayne Dollins of Rantoul, who passed | 4 | | away on March 30, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Paul Dollins was born in Benton to Virgil and | 6 | | Madeline Dollins on February 20, 1935; he graduated from Benton | 7 | | High School in 1953 and served in the United States Army; he | 8 | | earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Southern | 9 | | Illinois University in Carbondale; he married Judy Benner in | 10 | | 1962; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Paul Dollins began his career in law enforcement | 12 | | with the Illinois Division of Narcotic Control; he then joined | 13 | | the University of Illinois Police Department as an investigator | 14 | | before being named Chief of Police; he retired in 1995 after 25 | 15 | | years with the University and continued to support law | 16 | | enforcement by lobbying for the Illinois Association of Chiefs | 17 | | of Police; he spent the final six years of his career as Chief | 18 | | of Police for the Village of Rantoul, retiring in 2005; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Paul Dollins was active in many community | 20 | | organizations; he was a longtime supporter of the University of | 21 | | Illinois and loved spending time with his children and | 22 | | grandchildren; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Paul Dollins was preceded in death by his wife, | 2 | | Judy; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Paul Dollins is survived by his brother, Ronald | 4 | | Dollins; his three children, Beth (William) Wilkins, Matthew | 5 | | (Julie Lund) Dollins, and Sara (Chad) Hennigh; and his five | 6 | | grandchildren, Dillon and Dakota Jones, and Madeline, Andrew, | 7 | | and Catherine Dollins; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Paul Wayne Dollins, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Paul Dollins as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy.
