| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John H. Miller of McHenry, who passed | 4 | | away on November 10, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Miller was born on May 30, 1927 in McHenry; | 6 | | his parents were Henry J. and Mayme (nee Ibsh) Miller; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, John Miller served his country as a member of the | 8 | | United States Navy during World War II; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, John Miller was the owner of the Miller Monument | 10 | | Company, the oldest business in McHenry, established in 1868; | 11 | | he also worked for William Tonyan and Sons, Inc.; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, John Miller was a member of American Legion | 13 | | Auxiliary Post 491, McHenry Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4600, | 14 | | the Johnsburg Community Club, the McHenry Chamber of Commerce, | 15 | | and Catholic Order of Foresters Court 594; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, John Miller enjoyed all sports, especially | 17 | | basketball, bowling, and billiards; he also enjoyed the New | 18 | | York Yankees and playing euchre; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, John Miller was preceded in death by his parents |

| 1 | | and a sister, Maureen Doherty; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, John Miller is survived by 4 children, Jerry (Mary | 3 | | Lynn) Miller, Jane (Marty) Keller, Judy (Rocco) Macri, and | 4 | | Julie (Dave) Hobson; 7 grandchildren, Jaime (Jason) Thelen, | 5 | | Jana (Mitchell) Smith, John (Lisa) Doherty, Kristi (Ryan) | 6 | | Gregorio, Lindsey Keller, Heather Hobson, and Taylor Hobson; | 7 | | and 7 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Maxwell, Isabella, Makray, | 8 | | Deacon, Jake, and Sam; he is also survived by Betty Miller; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 12 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of John H. Miller; and be | 13 | | it further
