| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Richard Dale "Jack" Evans of Pekin, | 4 | | who passed away on August 5, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jack Evans was born to Joseph W. and Jessie I. | 6 | | (Clark) Evans in Pekin on April 14, 1942; he married Jane | 7 | | Rosemary Westerhouse in Miami, Oklahoma on December 10, 1960; | 8 | | and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Jack Evans worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 | 10 | | years, retiring from quality control in 1996; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Jack Evans was a proud member of UAW Local 974; as | 12 | | a retiree, he served the union as recording secretary and as a | 13 | | former trustee; he was also a member of Grace United Methodist | 14 | | Church in Pekin; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jack Evans volunteered for the bi-monthly blood | 16 | | drives held at the union hall for many years; he also | 17 | | volunteered with Junior Achievement in earlier years; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Jack Evans enjoyed golfing and woodworking; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Jack Evans was preceded in death by his parents; |

| 1 | | his son, James Evans; his grandson, Matthew Evans; and his two | 2 | | brothers, Joseph Evans and Charles "Bud" Evans; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Jack Evans is survived by his wife; his two sons, | 4 | | Jack (Michelle) Evans and Joseph (Kim) Evans; his daughter, | 5 | | Jessie (Carey) Rice; his six grandchildren, Tyler (Holly) | 6 | | Evans, Felicia (Derek) Auth, Danielle (Eric) McElroy, Zachary | 7 | | (Adrianna) Rice, Bendigo (Chassidy) Evans, and Pete (Elena) | 8 | | Evans; his nine great-grandchildren; and his two sisters, Nora | 9 | | Haynes and Jean (Ron) Peoples; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Richard Dale "Jack" Evans and extend our sincere condolences | 13 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 14 | | it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Jack Evans as an expression of our | 17 | | deepest sympathy.
