| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Donald M. Pfau, Jr. of Hampton, who | 4 | | passed away on March 1, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Pfau was born in Chicago to Donald M. and | 6 | | Beulah (Farver) Pfau, Sr. on July 5, 1923; he served in the | 7 | | United States Air Force during World War II; he earned his | 8 | | engineering degree from Iowa State University and married Betty | 9 | | Finley on March 17, 1950 at Watertown Baptist Church in East | 10 | | Moline; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Donald Pfau began his career at John Deere Planter | 12 | | Works on June 25, 1951; his 33 years with Deere & Company | 13 | | included assignments in a variety of engineering functions, and | 14 | | a progression of managerial positions at Planter Works, the | 15 | | Industrial Equipment Works, Deere & Company, and the European | 16 | | Office; during the nearly eight years in the European office, | 17 | | he and Betty lived in Heidelberg, Germany and traveled | 18 | | extensively throughout Europe; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Donald Pfau enjoyed golfing and playing cards with | 20 | | his buddies; he enjoyed woodworking with his son, Kenyon; his | 21 | | greatest joy was his grandchildren and he was an avid Chicago | 22 | | Cubs fan; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Donald Pfau was preceded in death by his parents | 2 | | and his son, Kenyon; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Donald Pfau is survived by his wife, Betty; his | 4 | | daughter, Jennifer (Sean) McGivern; his daughter-in-law, | 5 | | Brenda Pfau; his grandchildren, Drew (Natalie) Wayne, Ryan | 6 | | (Susan) McGivern, and Katie (Ryan) Ganshert; and his | 7 | | great-grandchildren, Kyler, Karter, Olivia, Liam, Brogan, and | 8 | | Salima; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Donald M. Pfau, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Donald Pfau as an expression of our | 16 | | deepest sympathy.
