| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Kenneth "Gary" Kombrink of Bloomington, | 4 | | who passed away on March 25, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gary Kombrink was born in Harrisburg, | 6 | | Pennsylvania to Gilbert and Ruthe Kombrink on August 29, 1945; | 7 | | he attended high school in Belleville and the University of | 8 | | Missouri, where he was quarterback of the football team in | 9 | | 1966-67 and co-captain his senior year; after graduation in | 10 | | 1968, he served in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant from | 11 | | 1968 to 1970; he graduated from the University of Missouri | 12 | | School of Law in 1973; he married Sandra K. Arnold on March 28, | 13 | | 1987; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Gary Kombrink began his legal career, which | 15 | | included a partnership, with the Dunn law firm in Bloomington | 16 | | and as a staff attorney for the University of Illinois, | 17 | | specializing in labor and employment law; he retired from the U | 18 | | of I in 2005, but later served as Director of Labor Relations | 19 | | at Illinois State University for several years while also | 20 | | maintaining a private law office in Bloomington; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Gary Kombrink retired for a second time and | 22 | | devoted all his time to his beloved wife and the cats they |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Gary Kombrink is survived by his wife, Sandi; his | 3 | | mother, Ruthe; his sisters, Gayle (Gary) Libberton and Lisa | 4 | | (Jesse Camacho) Kombrink; his son, Ryan Kombrink; his daughter, | 5 | | Kyle (John) Roche; his grandchildren, Nora, Maddie, Lucy, Abby, | 6 | | and Matthias; his nephews, Rand and Gabe; and his niece, | 7 | | Shelle; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Kenneth "Gary" Kombrink, and extend our sincere condolences to | 11 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
