| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John M. Schwarberg of Springfield, who | 4 | | passed away on September 12, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Schwarberg was born in Springfield to John | 6 | | and Josephine (Combs) Schwarberg on July 20, 1932; he was a | 7 | | resident of Springfield his entire life; he served in the U.S. | 8 | | Army during the Korean Conflict; he earned his master's degree | 9 | | from the University of Illinois at Springfield; he married Rita | 10 | | Cartwright on January 10, 1953, and she preceded him in death | 11 | | on December 8, 1982; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, John Schwarberg served as an auditor and | 13 | | accountant for the State of Illinois for nearly 30 years; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, John Schwarberg was a member of the First United | 15 | | Methodist Church; he was an enthusiastic fan of the Cardinals, | 16 | | the Bears, Lanphier High School, and the University of | 17 | | Illinois; he was also an avid golfer and hit two holes-in-one; | 18 | | and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, John Schwarberg was preceded in death by his | 20 | | parents; his wife; his brother, Robert Schwarberg; and his | 21 | | sister-in-law, Karen Schwarberg; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, John Schwarberg is survived by his son, John E. | 2 | | (Kristine) Schwarberg; his brother, Chris (Sue) Schwarberg; | 3 | | his special friend, Eileen Lopossa; his nephew, Brian (Sara) | 4 | | Schwarberg; and his niece, Erin (Jeremy) Fenelon; therefore, be | 5 | | it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | John M. Schwarberg and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of John Schwarberg as an expression of | 13 | | our deepest sympathy.
