| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of David J. Miller of East Moline, who | 4 | | passed away September 1, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, David Miller was born in Des Moines, Iowa to David | 6 | | E. and Ora J. Wyzard Miller on December 23, 1927; he graduated | 7 | | from Orion High School and the Moody Bible Institute; he | 8 | | received his bachelor's degree from Augustana College and his | 9 | | master's degree from Western Illinois University; he served in | 10 | | the U.S. Army during World War II; he married Wanda Wilson in | 11 | | Silvis on November 23, 1956, and she preceded him in death on | 12 | | September 21, 1994; he later married Annette Limkeman in Silvis | 13 | | on August 9, 1997, and she preceded him in death on January 25, | 14 | | 2009; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, David Miller retired from the Silvis School | 16 | | District, where he taught math and science at Silvis Junior | 17 | | High School; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, David Miller was a member of Gideons | 19 | | International; he was a former Awana leader and taught Sunday | 20 | | school; he also enjoyed gardening and trains; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, David Miller was preceded in death by his first |

| 1 | | wife, Wanda; his second wife, Annette; his parents; and his | 2 | | brothers, Victor and Andrew Miller; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, David Miller is survived by his daughter, Emily | 4 | | (Chuck) Burdick; his stepchildren, Mark (Karen) Limkeman, | 5 | | Marsha (Allen) Steely, and Dan (Erica) Limkeman; his | 6 | | grandchildren, Tori, Hayley, and Whitney Burdick; his | 7 | | step-grandchildren, Steven, Scott, Robert, Andrew, and John | 8 | | Limkeman, Joshua and Jonathan Steely, Rachel Steely James, and | 9 | | Katie Jasperse; several step-great-grandchildren; and his | 10 | | sister, Cleora Calkins; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | David J. Miller and extend our sincere condolences to his | 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
