| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James McNeese, M.D. of Oak Park, who | 4 | | passed away on August 28, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on | 6 | | January 1, 1925 to James W. and Florence (nee Hunter) McNeese; | 7 | | he worked in various levels of medicine before completing his | 8 | | Doctor of Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico School of | 9 | | Medicine in 1965; he interned in Texas and completed his | 10 | | residency in dermatology at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of | 11 | | Cook County; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese settled in Oak Park in 1969 and | 13 | | began his private practice in La Grange; he was a member of the | 14 | | American Academy of Dermatology; he married Mona Leininger in | 15 | | 1976; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese continued to be a student, | 17 | | eventually working his way through many volumes of the Great | 18 | | Courses program; he loved liberal and progressive politics; he | 19 | | worked for the Democratic Party and headed the Portland, Oregon | 20 | | "Young Democrats" during the Kennedy campaign of 1960; his | 21 | | "handshake photo" with then-candidate Kennedy was a prized | 22 | | possession; he was also an avid chess player, writer, dreamer, |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese was preceded in death by his | 3 | | daughter, Megan; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese is survived by his daughters, | 5 | | Amanda McNeese and Amy McNeese-Mechan; his son, Terry McNeese | 6 | | (Karen Farmer); Mona's daughters, Robin Zimmerman and Dana | 7 | | Zimmerman Murphy (Michael Murphy); and he will always be | 8 | | Grandpa Jimmie to Tom, Dan, and Jack Murphy; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | James McNeese, M.D., and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Dr. James McNeese as an expression | 16 | | of our deepest sympathy.
