| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Dr. Charles C. Gerleman of Reynolds, | 4 | | who passed away on September 7, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Gerleman, the son of Leo and Lorraine | 6 | | (Zweibormer) Gerleman, was born in Ossian, Iowa on July 19, | 7 | | 1930; he joined the United States Air Force during the Korean | 8 | | War, serving from 1950 to 1954; he married Dorothy Rourke in | 9 | | Mt. Pleasant, Iowa on October 8, 1955; he graduated with a | 10 | | bachelor's degree from Truman State University and later with | 11 | | a doctorate from Palmer College in 1968; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Gerleman was the owner and operator of | 13 | | Gerleman Chiropractic in Milan for over 35 years; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Gerleman was a member of St. Pius X Catholic | 15 | | Church and St. Mary's Catholic Church, both of Rock Island, | 16 | | Knights of Columbus Allouez Council 658, the Milan American | 17 | | Legion, Milan Optimist, the Illinois Chiropractic Society, and | 18 | | the American Chiropractic Society; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Gerleman was preceded in death by his | 20 | | parents; his wife; his sons-in-law, Kevin Basala and Dr. | 21 | | Eugene Peck; and his siblings, Edwin Gerleman and Dr. Gerald |

| 1 | | Gerleman; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Gerleman is survived by his children, Dr. | 3 | | Teresa Peck, Dr. Diane (Andrew) Baldwin, Dr. Dennis (Jeanette) | 4 | | Gerleman, Dr. Patricia Basala, Donna (Rodney) Adams, and Dr. | 5 | | Mark (Dr. Jennifer) Gerleman; 10 grandchildren; 13 | 6 | | great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Nobert Gerleman and | 7 | | Mary Ann Sadler; therefore, be it | 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Dr. Charles C. Gerleman and extend our sincere condolences to | 11 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further | 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Dr. Gerleman as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy. |
