| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Gary J. Gabel of Palatine, who passed | 4 | | away on April 24, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gabel was born on August 27, 1957 in Chicago; | 6 | | his parents were John and Dorris (nee Fuhr) Gabel; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gabel graduated from Crystal Lake High School | 8 | | in 1975; he subsequently graduated in 1978 from North Park | 9 | | College in Chicago with a degree in business; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gabel worked as a benefits consultant at | 11 | | Group Alternatives for 22 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gabel was an active member of the Orchard | 13 | | Evangelical Free Church; he was a member of the church's choir | 14 | | and often sang solos with one of his two daughters; he was also | 15 | | involved with church youth groups and the leadership team; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gabel and his wife shared a passion for | 17 | | travel and music; they were also members of the Chicago Master | 18 | | Singers; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gabel was preceded in death by his mother, |

| 1 | | Dorris Gabel; his father-in-law, Walton Hultstrand; and his | 2 | | father, John (Patricia) Gabel, II; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gabel is survived by his wife, Betty (nee | 4 | | Hultstrand); 2 daughters, Kristen Gabel and Beth (Jared) | 5 | | Miller; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Gabel; a granddaughter, | 6 | | Laila Grace Gabel; a sister, Faye (Robert) Kubacha; 2 brothers, | 7 | | Glen (Jill) Gabel and Grant (Julie) Gabel; and his | 8 | | mother-in-law, Carol Hultstrand; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 11 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Gary J. Gabel; and be | 12 | | it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Gary Gabel as an expression of our | 15 | | sympathy.
