| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Urban D. "Mouse" DePorter of East Moline, | 4 | | who passed away on October 28, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Urban DePorter was born in Moline on August 11, | 6 | | 1928 to Urban and Alice (nee Barbier) DePorter; he served in | 7 | | the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and married | 8 | | Jacqueline L. Blunke on August 8, 1953 at St. Anne's Church; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Urban DePorter retired as a Captain with the East | 11 | | Moline Fire Department in 1982 after 24 years; he also worked | 12 | | in maintenance for Homewood Manor Apartments in Moline for 20 | 13 | | years; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Urban DePorter was a member of East Moline | 15 | | American Legion Post 227 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 2056; he | 16 | | served on the City of East Moline's Pension Board for 40 years | 17 | | and was an active member of St. Anne's Parish, serving on the | 18 | | Parish Council and as Chairman of Building and Grounds; he had | 19 | | been a member of the East End Boulders Club and the Friends | 20 | | Circle; and | 21 | | WHEREAS, Urban DePorter enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, |

| 1 | | and finding a good bargain at yard sales; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Urban DePorter is survived by his wife of 62 | 3 | | years, Jackie; his children, MaryEllen (Wayne) Blette, Peggy | 4 | | Roffman, Connie (Craig) Vervaecke, John DePorter (Stefanie), | 5 | | and James DePorter (Brenda); his grandchildren, Jessie (David) | 6 | | Dies, Daniel Vervaecke, Laura Vervaecke, Jenna (Nichole) | 7 | | Kaltenbach, Jaclynn DePorter, Tyler Freese (Mandy), and Devon | 8 | | Gamboe; his great-grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Urban, | 9 | | Annelise, Mason, Eli, Gavin, Mya, and Quintin; his sisters, | 10 | | Karol Fridley and Barb Davies; his brother, Tony DePorter; and | 11 | | many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Urban D. "Mouse" DePorter, and extend our sincere condolences | 15 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 16 | | it further
