| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Charles Anderberg Jackson, who passed | 4 | | away on July 29, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charles Jackson was born in Detroit, Michigan to | 6 | | Charles E. and Alice (Anderberg) Jackson on February 4, 1925 | 7 | | and lived his entire life in Moline; he served in the U.S. Army | 8 | | Signal Corp during World War II; he was honorably discharged | 9 | | and awarded the Purple Heart; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Charles Jackson worked as a letter carrier at the | 11 | | Moline Post Office and retired in 1985 after 30 years of | 12 | | service; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Charles Jackson was proud of his Swedish | 14 | | heritage; he was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in | 15 | | Moline; he was happy to be able to spend time with his | 16 | | great-grandchildren, Holden and Dahlia, who made him laugh; he | 17 | | enjoyed going to lunch with his daughter, Janet, and special | 18 | | friend, Kitty; he regretted not winning the lottery; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Charles Jackson was preceded in death by his wife | 20 | | of 61 years, Nancy; his parents; and his cat, Pearl "Mom"; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Charles Jackson is survived by his daughter, | 2 | | Carole Flosi; his grandson, Daniel (Karlee) Flosi; his | 3 | | great-grandchildren; his sister, Alice Johnson; his | 4 | | sister-in-law, Marilyn Boen; his cat, Arlene; and his niece, | 5 | | Kathy (Frey) Herritt; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Charles Anderberg Jackson and extend our sincere condolences | 9 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 10 | | it further
