| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Frank Spurgetis of East Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on July 10, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Frank Spurgetis was born to George and Katherine | 6 | | "Katina" (Birles) Spurgetis in East Moline on November 29, | 7 | | 1932; he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean | 8 | | Conflict from 1952 to 1956; he married Terry Lawrence in | 9 | | August 1960, and they had three daughters, Dena, Shelley, and | 10 | | Nicole; he later married Roxanne Smith in Bettendorf, Iowa on | 11 | | August 7, 1982, and they later married in the Greek Orthodox | 12 | | Church and had two sons, Phillip and Alex; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Frank Spurgetis worked in the Supply Procurement | 14 | | and Operations Center at the Rock Island Arsenal; he retired | 15 | | after 42 years of service in 1993; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Frank Spurgetis' passion was his family, and he | 17 | | enjoyed spending holidays and special occasions with his wife, | 18 | | children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; he was an | 19 | | avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Bulls; he enjoyed playing | 20 | | bingo with family and friends; he also enjoyed having | 21 | | breakfast with his friends, Pete Lingris, Tony Stopolous, and | 22 | | Spiro Pappaspiros; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Frank Spurgetis was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents; his siblings, Jennie Karman, Anne Allen, Gus | 3 | | Spurgetis, and Tom Spurgetis; and his beloved dog, Kaylie; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Frank Spurgetis is survived by his wife of 39 | 5 | | years, Roxanne; his daughters, Dena (Christian) Nicholas, | 6 | | Shelley Spurgetis, and Nicole (Pete) Fedele; his sons, Phillip | 7 | | (Carrie) Spurgetis and Alex (Amy) Spurgetis; his 11 | 8 | | grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; and his brother, | 9 | | Socrates Spurgetis; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Frank Spurgetis and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
