1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of
3 the State of Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of
4 Gordon "Gordy" Kiesgen of Spring Grove; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Kiesgen was born in Chicago to Gordon and
6 Ruth Kiesgen on January 10, 1936; he married Diane on July 9,
7 1966; and
8 WHEREAS, A driving force within Grant Township for the
9 past 46 years, "Gordy" served as township clerk from 1956
10 until becoming township supervisor in 1996; one of his major
11 accomplishments was the inception and fundraising for the
12 Grant Township "Field of Dreams" athletic fields; and
13 WHEREAS, He was a member of the Fox Lake Volunteer Fire
14 Department for more than 40 years and former department
15 chaplain; he was also a former lieutenant and chaplain with
16 the Fox Lake Rescue Squad; he owned Gordy Kiesgen Insurance
17 in Fox Lake; and
18 WHEREAS, Mr. Kiesgen was a charter member, founding
19 officer, and past president of the Grant Township Republican
20 Club; he played Santa for the Rescue Squad Christmas parties
21 as well as the Fox Lake Rotary's Breakfast with Santa for the
22 past 40 years; and
23 WHEREAS, The passing of Gordon Kiesgen has been felt by
24 many, especially his wife, Diane; his daughter, Deborah
25 (husband, Dan) Carole; his sons, Gordon (wife, Nanette)
26 Kiesgen and Brian (wife, Cheryl) Kiesgen; his grandchildren,
27 Danny and Kalie Carole, Gordon Kiesgen IV, and Benjamin
28 Kiesgen; his brother, Jack (wife, Kimber) Kiesgen; and his
29 many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; he was preceded in
30 death by his brother, Donald Kiesgen; therefore be it
31 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we mourn the passing of Gordon "Gordy" Kiesgen and offer our
3 deepest sympathy to his family and friends; and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to the family of Gordon Kiesgen with our sincerest
6 condolences.
