| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Ardis | 4 |
| Morris, III, who passed away on February 2, 2010; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Ardis Morris, III was born on July 20, 1951; he | 6 |
| graduated from St. Francis de Paula parish school in 1965; he | 7 |
| aspired to the ministry through the direction of Bishop | 8 |
| Dempsey; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Ardis Morris, III graduated from Quigley | 10 |
| Preparatory Seminary South in 1969; he continued his studies at | 11 |
| Niles College of Loyola University; he then completed his | 12 |
| studies in the field of political studies and earned his | 13 |
| bachelor's degree from Loyola University in Chicago; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Ardis Morris, III respectfully served as Chief | 15 |
| Clerk of the Chicago Transit Authority for 30 years; and | 16 |
| WHEREAS, Ardis Morris, III was married to his loving wife, | 17 |
| Betty, for 35 years; together, they had 2 daughters, Kim and | 18 |
| Tamitra (Donnie), and 2 granddaughters, Kayla and Alyssa; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Ardis Morris, III served as lay minister at the | 20 |
| St. Felicitas Roman Catholic Church in the Avalon Park |

| community of Chicago and taught Bible studies to the members of | 2 |
| the parish; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, Ardis Morris, III successfully mentored and | 4 |
| served his classmates and family his entire life; therefore, be | 5 |
| it
| 6 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 7 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 8 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ardis | 9 |
| Morris, III; and be it further
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 |
| presented to the family of Ardis Morris, III as an expression | 12 |
| of our sympathy.
