HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Erika
4Syvette Gordon-Jackson of Peoria, who passed away on June 21,
52024; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson was born to Sylvester and
7Roberta Gordon on March 12, 1976; she committed to her faith at
8an early age; she married Patrick Jackson on July 19, 2019; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson dedicated 20 years to being
10a driver for CityLift located in Peoria; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson was an avid supporter of her
12children and grandchildren at numerous sports activities; over
13the years, she attended many basketball and football games and
14track meets; her children were her heart, and there was not a
15prouder mother who expressed greater joy when talking about
16her children's and grandchildren's achievements; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson was preceded in death by her
18grandparents, Pleasant and Mabel Gordon and Roy and Anna Mae
19Johnson, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson is survived by her husband,

1Patrick; her daughter, Seanne Gordon; her son, Kashmiere
2Hughes; her grandchildren, Demylin, Eylin, Seanti, Khloee, and
3Kamieria; and her brothers, Micha (Kimberly) and Brett
4(Jackie) Gordon; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
6HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7we mourn the passing of Erika Syvette Gordon-Jackson and
8extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all
9who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Erika Gordon-Jackson as an
12expression of our deepest sympathy.
