HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Erika Syvette Gordon-Jackson of Peoria, who passed away on June 21, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson was born to Sylvester and Roberta Gordon on March 12, 1976; she committed to her faith at an early age; she married Patrick Jackson on July 19, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson dedicated 20 years to being a driver for CityLift located in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren at numerous sports activities; over the years, she attended many basketball and football games and track meets; her children were her heart, and there was not a prouder mother who expressed greater joy when talking about her children's and grandchildren's achievements; and

WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pleasant and Mabel Gordon and Roy and Anna Mae Johnson, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and

WHEREAS, Erika Gordon-Jackson is survived by her husband, Patrick; her daughter, Seanne Gordon; her son, Kashmiere Hughes; her grandchildren, Demylin, Eylin, Seanti, Khloee, and Kamieria; and her brothers, Micha (Kimberly) and Brett (Jackie) Gordon; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Erika Syvette Gordon-Jackson and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Erika Gordon-Jackson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
