| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Bruce King of Moline, who passed away | 4 | | on February 20, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bruce King was born to Frank and Doris (Funk) | 6 | | King in Moline on April 21, 1936; he graduated from Moline High | 7 | | School; he served as a machinist's mate second class in the | 8 | | U.S. Navy for four years; he married Gloria Brandt at First | 9 | | Christian Church in Moline on June 1, 1963; and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Bruce King worked as a driver and mechanic at | 11 | | Standard Forwarding, retiring after 35 years of service; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Bruce King and his wife, Gloria, enjoyed dancing, | 13 | | traveling, and following local bands, especially The Crooked | 14 | | Cactus Band; in his younger years, he coached baseball; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Bruce King was preceded death by his parents; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Bruce King is survived by his wife of 60 years, | 17 | | Gloria; his children, Kevin King, Julie (David Davis) Smith, | 18 | | and Kristi (Adam) Trent; and his grandchildren, Eric (Raymond | 19 | | Marquez) Straw, Evan Smith, Kenzie Trent, and Kallie Trent; | 20 | | therefore, be it |
