| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert Gaebler, who passed away on August | 4 | | 16, 2019 at the age of 87; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler was born in Cleveland, Ohio in | 6 | | 1932; he moved to Chicago when he began graduate studies in | 7 | | psychology at Northwestern University; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler married Carol Armin Gaebler in | 9 | | 1969; together, they moved to Oak Park; they were married for | 10 | | 58 years; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler was Chicago's first Head Start | 12 | | psychologist; he held leadership roles in the Chicago | 13 | | Psychological Association, the Illinois Psychological | 14 | | Association, and the National Association of School | 15 | | Psychologists; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler was a prominent school | 17 | | psychologist in Illinois; he worked at Oak Park and River | 18 | | Forest High School as a contractual school psychologist from | 19 | | 1992 until his retirement in 2002; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler served as a local election judge |

| 1 | | for over 15 years in Oak Park; he was also active in various | 2 | | Oak Park political groups and led a nonprofit organization; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler had a warm sense of humor and a | 4 | | passion for helping those in need; this can be remembered by | 5 | | family and friends across the globe, such as those he became | 6 | | connected with through an enthusiasm for ancestry and | 7 | | genealogy; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gaebler is survived by his wife, Carol; his | 9 | | siblings, Dick, Ted, and Peggy; his sons, David, Ken, and | 10 | | Michael; his daughters-in-law, Lois, Ellen, and Susan; and his | 11 | | grandchildren, Rebecca, Joey, Ben, Anna, Madeline, and Sam; | 12 | | therefore, be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 15 | | Robert Gaebler and extend our sincere condolences to his | 16 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 17 | | further
