| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Elsie P. Radtke, who passed away on | 4 | | October 21, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Elsie Radtke was born in Chicago to Richard and | 6 | | Virginia
Prendergast on March 21, 1949; before college, she | 7 | | started working and eventually managed
six locations of Mary | 8 | | Del Corsetieres; she graduated from Saint Xavier University
| 9 | | with a Master of Arts in Education; she married John Mannix in | 10 | | 1975; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Elsie Radtke worked as an art, English, and
| 12 | | computer teacher before becoming the Associate Director of | 13 | | Family Ministries
for the Archdiocese of Chicago, where she | 14 | | guided families through good times
and bad; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Elsie Radtke was always looking for ways to help | 16 | | others and volunteered for many
organizations, including | 17 | | PADS/Housing Forward; she was a skilled painter
and baker, and | 18 | | her banana bread and chocolate chip cookies will be missed; she | 19 | | was an active and dedicated member of the Mater
Christi Church, | 20 | | where she served as a Lector and participated on the Wake | 21 | | Committee
and in the Women's Guild; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Elsie Radtke married John Radtke in 2000, and they | 2 | | traveled the world and enjoyed spending time being Grandma and | 3 | | Pa; for
Elsie, nothing was more important than spending time | 4 | | with her grandchildren, and her love for her grandchildren was | 5 | | matched only by their love for
her; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Elsie Radtke was the dearly beloved wife
of John | 7 | | A. Radtke; the devoted mother of Kate (Jon) Hall, Thomas (Beth) | 8 | | Mannix, and Elizabeth (Brian) Gajos; the dear stepmother of | 9 | | Rebecca, Jeremy, Jessica,
and the late Jeffrey Radtke; the | 10 | | adoring grandmother of Maya, Quinn, Lucas, J.J.,
and Jimmy; the | 11 | | loving sister of Kathleen (Dennis Ginosi) Prendergast, Joan
| 12 | | (Michael) Restko, Joseph (Mitzi) Prendergast, Rev. Richard | 13 | | Prendergast,
Thomas (Margaret) Prendergast, Anne (Roberto | 14 | | Obregon) Prendergast, Edward
(Juliet) Prendergast, Melon | 15 | | (Michael) Prischman, and James (Rachel)
Prendergast; and the | 16 | | dear aunt and friend of many; therefore, be it
