| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Russell R. "Russ" Kinzinger of Hanna | 4 | | City, who passed away on January 30, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Russ Kinzinger was born in Washington, Illinois | 6 | | to Roy and Barbara (May) Kinzinger on November 3, 1928; he | 7 | | served in the United States Navy during World War II; he was | 8 | | married to Barbara Linn from 1954 to 1956, Joyce Lamb from 1962 | 9 | | to 1980, and Karan DeKraker from 2002 to 2009; and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Russ Kinzinger retired in 1981 from Hiram Walker | 11 | | and Sons Distillery after 30 years; he owned and operated the | 12 | | Owl's Nest Tavern in West Peoria from 1980 to 1996; he | 13 | | established three other businesses in Peoria, KAT Amusements, | 14 | | Owl Darts, and several Darts 'N Pool retail outlets throughout | 15 | | the Midwest; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Russ Kinzinger was a member of Elks Lodge #20 in | 17 | | Peoria, the Izaak Walton League of America, and the Illinois | 18 | | Liquor Association for many years; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Russ Kinzinger was preceded in death by his first | 20 | | wife, Barbara; his second wife, Joyce; his third wife, Karan; | 21 | | his brother, Robert Kinzinger; and his sister, Frances Volk; |

| 1 | | and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Russ Kinzinger is survived by his children, David | 3 | | (Jackie) Kinzinger, Lisa (Randy) Massey, and Bryan Kinzinger; | 4 | | his stepdaughters, Cindy (Jim) Green and Cheryl (Brad) Bjerke; | 5 | | his grandchildren, Adam (Alex) Kinzinger, Alexandrea (Jake) | 6 | | Todino, Jennifer (Brad) Henz, Samantha Massey, Jessica (Paul) | 7 | | Karstensen, Olivia Massey, Myranda Massey, Addison Massey, | 8 | | Skylar Kinzinger, Slayde Kinzinger, Kurt Green, Jake Green, | 9 | | Alex Bjerke, and Lauren Bjerke; and his great-grandchildren, | 10 | | Emma, Carter, Henry, and Hazely; therefore, be it | 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Russell R. "Russ" Kinzinger and extend our sincere condolences | 14 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 15 | | it further | 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Russ Kinzinger as an expression of | 18 | | our deepest sympathy. |
