| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Ida M. (Guzzo) Rummans of Rock Island, | 4 | | who passed away on January 17, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ida Rummans was born to Domenic and Lena Cusimano | 6 | | Guzzo in Rock Island on August 7, 1938; she graduated from | 7 | | Alleman High School; she married Elmer Rummans at St. Pius X | 8 | | Catholic Church in Rock Island on May 24, 1958; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, Ida Rummans worked in the advertising department | 10 | | of Deere and Company for 20-plus years; she also ran her own | 11 | | business, Butterflies R Free, in Rock Island for many years; | 12 | | and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Ida Rummans was a member of St. Pius X Catholic | 14 | | Church in Rock Island, where she formerly cooked for all the | 15 | | priests; she also loved volunteering her time for Habitat for | 16 | | Humanity; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ida Rummans was an avid gardener who won the Rock | 18 | | Island Beautification Award; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Ida Rummans was preceded in death by her parents | 20 | | and her siblings, Angie Giammetta, Thomas Guzzo, Sam Guzzo, |

| 1 | | Joe Guzzo, and Jim Guzzo; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Ida Rummans is survived by her children, Gregory | 3 | | M. (partner, Gil Cartwright) Rummans, Dana (Virgil) Mayberry, | 4 | | and Stephen (Gayla) Rummans; her grandchildren, Mia Mayberry, | 5 | | Anthony (Jenny) Rummans, Kameron (Laura) Rummans, and Krista | 6 | | Knight; 10 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Tina Sonneville | 7 | | and Domenic Guzzo; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, | 8 | | be it | 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Ida M. (Guzzo) Rummans and extend our sincere condolences to | 12 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further | 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Ida Rummans as an expression of our | 16 | | deepest sympathy. |
