| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald | 4 | | D. Ladley, who passed away on January 15, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ladley was born in Springfield to Roy | 6 | | Clinton and Loraine MacMillan Ladley on May 24, 1938; he | 7 | | graduated from Illinois College with a degree in business, | 8 | | history, and education; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ladley enjoyed a long and distinguished | 10 | | career as a local real estate broker and as an owner of real | 11 | | estate, but he was happiest when he could share his knowledge | 12 | | with others by helping individuals start their own real estate | 13 | | careers; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ladley took an interest in his community | 15 | | by volunteering and serving on the boards of the Springfield | 16 | | Association for Retarded Citizens (SPARC), United Cerebral | 17 | | Palsy (UCP), the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), the | 18 | | Springfield Jaycees, the Rotary Club of Springfield, the Ansar | 19 | | Shriners, and the American Red Cross; he served as chairman of | 20 | | the Illinois Historic Sites Commission, the Springfield | 21 | | Historic Sites Commission, and the Sangamon County Historical | 22 | | Society; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ladley was actively and personally | 2 | | involved in community service; he volunteered as a tour guide | 3 | | for the Clayville Historical Site in Pleasant Plains and for | 4 | | the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, In addition to Ronald Ladley's community | 6 | | involvement, his personal achievements were quite extensive; | 7 | | he was president of the Capitol Area Association of Realtors | 8 | | in 1987 and received the Realtor of the Year Award in 1989 and | 9 | | the Realtor Hall of Fame Award in 1995; he influenced | 10 | | legislation to provide State workers with health benefits | 11 | | during the Ogilvie administration; he was Supervisor of | 12 | | Research Studies for the Illinois State Superintendent of | 13 | | Public Instruction and served as an Analyst of Schools for the | 14 | | Illinois Department of Education; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ladley spent much of his life volunteering | 16 | | on behalf of the Sangamon County Republican Central Committee | 17 | | as well as for the statewide and national GOP; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends admired Ronald Ladley for | 19 | | being a well-spoken, fun-loving individual, who could be | 20 | | counted on to speak well of other people; his warm smile, | 21 | | gentle caring heart, wisdom, kind personality, and generosity | 22 | | will be greatly missed; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ladley was preceded in death by his | 2 | | spouses, Jayne Millwee Ladley and Lynda Long Ladley; his | 3 | | parents; his siblings, Stanley Ladley and Marjorie Ladley | 4 | | Kimmel; his grandson, Jacob Brown; and his great-grandson, | 5 | | Jayse Tyler Goodwin; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ladley is survived by his daughters, | 7 | | Cynthia (Tom) Leepper, Ronda Ladley, and Judith Brown; his | 8 | | grandchildren, Kimberly, Heather, Jesse, Desiree, and Zachary; | 9 | | his great-grandchildren, Shayne, Alyissa, Avery, and Bella; | 10 | | several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his loving | 11 | | companion, Mary Renner; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 13 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 14 | | we mourn the passing of Ronald D. Ladley and extend our sincere | 15 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 16 | | him; and be it further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Ronald Ladley as an expression of | 19 | | our deepest sympathy.
