| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Billy Gene Sneed of Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on November 10, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sneed was born to Enos Monroe and Bessie | 6 | | (Counts) Sneed in Russellville, Alabama on August 30, 1927; he | 7 | | proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II; he earned | 8 | | a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Auburn University; | 9 | | he married Mary Catherine Hester in Russellville on May 16, | 10 | | 1953, and she preceded him in death on January 14, 2020; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sneed worked for John Deere for 40 years; | 12 | | he first worked in Atlanta before moving to the Quad Cities | 13 | | where he worked as product support manager; he retired in | 14 | | 1990; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sneed was a very active member of First | 16 | | Presbyterian Church of East Moline and served on several | 17 | | committees over the years; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sneed enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and | 19 | | working in his yard; he also loved Auburn football and Iowa | 20 | | football and basketball; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Billy Sneed is survived by his daughters, Beverly | 2 | | (Bill) Nesbit and Marilyn (Greg) Cornish; his grandchildren, | 3 | | Nate (Caitlyn) Nesbit, Sam (Eliza) Nesbit, Grant (Caitlin) | 4 | | Cornish, and Emily (Zack) Jaeger; his great-grandchild, Graham | 5 | | Cornish; and his siblings, Leland (Annette) and Carolyn | 6 | | Fuller; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Billy Gene Sneed and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Billy Sneed as an expression of our | 14 | | deepest sympathy.
