| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of James Clement "Jim" Murray II of The | 4 | | Villages, Florida, who passed away on October 8, 2023; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Murray was born in Evanston on August 15, | 6 | | 1937; he graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles | 7 | | in 1955; he earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry | 8 | | from Iowa State University in 1959; he married Dorsey Dee | 9 | | Spearing in Mundelein on July 5, 1963; and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Jim Murray held a decades-long career in | 11 | | agricultural and commercial real estate; he founded Murray | 12 | | Commercial in St. Charles; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Jim Murray had rewarding associations with Future | 14 | | Farmers of America, ROTC, the U.S. Army, and The Chicago | 15 | | Farmers; he served as chairman of the Community Hospital in | 16 | | Geneva and was instrumental in the merger of Community | 17 | | Hospital in Geneva and Delnor Hospital in St. Charles, now | 18 | | known as Northwestern Medicine; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Jim Murray loved his family, his friends, his | 20 | | country, and cruising Penobscot Bay in Maine; he was very | 21 | | proud of his grandchildren's accomplishments and work ethic; |

| 1 | | and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Jim Murray was known for his wonderful smile and | 3 | | sense of humor; he will be remembered for living by his own | 4 | | edict; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Murray was preceded in death by his parents, | 6 | | John Robert Murray and Coralee Whitsett Murray; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Jim Murray is survived by his wife, Dorsey Dee; | 8 | | his children, Tara Elizabeth Murray and James Clement "Jace" | 9 | | Murray III; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Murray; his | 10 | | grandchildren, John Robert and Paige Elizabeth Murray; and his | 11 | | sister, Joan Murray Webster; therefore, be it | 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | James Clement "Jim" Murray II and extend our sincere | 15 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 16 | | him; and be it further | 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Jim Murray as an expression of our | 19 | | deepest sympathy. |
