| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| were saddened to learn of the tragic death of Army Cpl. Forest | 4 |
| Joseph Jostes of Albion on April 4, 2004 in Baghdad, Iraq; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Forest Joseph Jostes was born on April 30, 1982, | 6 |
| in Warrensburg, Missouri, the son of Von and Diane Ibbotson; | 7 |
| and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a 2000 graduate of Edwards County High | 9 |
| School; he joined the Army on his 17th birthday and became a | 10 |
| member of the 25th Army Combat Engineers out of Lawrenceville; | 11 |
| he later joined active duty with the 1st 82nd Field Artillery | 12 |
| as part of the 1st Calvary out of Ft. Hood, Texas; he had been | 13 |
| in Iraq for about three weeks; he was a decorated soldier and | 14 |
| received four Army Achievement Awards; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Army Cpl. Forest Joseph Jostes will | 16 |
| be deeply felt by many, especially his parents, Von and Diane | 17 |
| Ibbotson; his sister, Michelle (Brian) Lee Teeter; his | 18 |
| brothers, Benjamin L. Jostes and Evan R. Ibbotson; his | 19 |
| grandparents, John and Laura Ibbotson, Glen and Darlene | 20 |
| Kellison, and Norman and Shirley Costley; his nieces and | 21 |
| nephews; and his several aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, | 22 |
| be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL | 24 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that
together with his | 25 |
| family, friends, educators, community, and
fellow members of | 26 |
| the United States Armed Forces, we mourn
the death of Army Cpl. | 27 |
| Forest Joseph Jostes, who will be
remembered as a patriotic, | 28 |
| brave and courageous man, and
offer our deepest sympathy to all | 29 |
| who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 30 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
