| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Bruce H. Pieper of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on August 8, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper was born to Arthur and Gladys | 6 | | (Davis) Pieper in Waterloo, Iowa on July 10, 1929; he married | 7 | | Norma Smith in Rock Island on October 6, 1945; he served in the | 8 | | U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper retired from International Harvester | 10 | | in East Moline, where he was a material handling engineer; he | 11 | | was an executive on loan from International Harvester to | 12 | | United Way of the QC for many years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper was a member of 15th Avenue | 14 | | Christian Church, Rock Island and a former member of Memorial | 15 | | Christian Church; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper enjoyed fishing, hunting, and | 17 | | spending time with his family; he and his wife enjoyed | 18 | | performing and volunteering with the Quad City Music Guild | 19 | | theater in Moline, where he performed in 18 leading roles; he | 20 | | was also a performer at Play Crafters, Circa 21, and many other | 21 | | venues around the Quad Cities; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper was preceded in death by his wife; | 2 | | his parents; his daughter, Judy Abbott; his sisters, Ruth | 3 | | Collins, Darlene Justesen, and Thelma Engman; and his brother, | 4 | | Raymond; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper is survived by his children, Greg | 6 | | (Mary) Pieper, Chris (Becky) Pieper, Debra (Larry) Wakeland, | 7 | | David (Sharon) Pieper, Kevin (Valeree) Pieper, and Bonnie | 8 | | (Robert) Warnock; his 19 grandchildren; his 33 | 9 | | great-grandchildren; his seven great-great-grandchildren; and | 10 | | his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Bruce H. Pieper and extend our sincere condolences to his | 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
