| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Rita M. Klaas of Meppen, who passed away | 4 | | on March 29, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rita Klaas was born on November 24, 1939, in | 6 | | Meppen to George E. and Anna C. (Keim) Friedel; she married | 7 | | Alfred L. Klaas on September 24, 1966, in Meppen; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Rita Klaas was a homemaker and a retired secretary | 9 | | at St. Norbert's Catholic School in Hardin; she also had | 10 | | previously worked as a secretary for the law offices of Ralph | 11 | | Moses and Ed Fanning in Harden; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Rita Klaas was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic | 13 | | Church and Alter Society in Meppen and she was a supporter of | 14 | | the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging St. Joseph's | 15 | | Quilting Club; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Rita Klaas was preceded in death by her parents; | 17 | | her husband; her sister, Ethel Lehr; and her brothers, Paul, | 18 | | Aloys, Ed, and Brother Norbert Friedel; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Rita Klaas is survived by her daughter, Mary Helen | 20 | | (Ted) Schulte; her sons, Greg (Sheryl) Klaas, Kevin (Victoria) |

| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Rita Klaas and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, | 10 | | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
