| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Nancy S. Stannard (nee Spooner) of River | 4 |
| Forest, who passed away on February 11, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on March 28, 1931 in Murphysboro to | 6 |
| Lawrence and Irene Spooner; she attended Lincoln Elementary | 7 |
| School, was a 1949 graduate of Murphysboro High School, and | 8 |
| graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1953; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She taught special education in the Kankakee | 10 |
| School District, then moved to Oak Park in 1965; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, She was employed with the Community Chest of Oak | 12 |
| Park/River Forest until her retirement in 1979; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, She was a 44-year resident of the Oak Park/River | 14 |
| Forest area, a member of the Oak Park Country Club, the River | 15 |
| Forest Tennis Club, a Women's Investment Club, and the Keystone | 16 |
| Garden Club; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Stannard is survived by her husband, Richard | 18 |
| D.; her children, Lisa (Thomas) Woods and Scott Shepherd; her | 19 |
| stepchildren, Richard (Mary), Robert M.D. (Carole), David | 20 |
| (Christine Comer), and Cynthia Stannard; her ten |

| grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Jeanne (the late Charles | 2 |
| "Fred") Bock; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 4 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 5 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Nancy Stannard; and be | 6 |
| it further
| 7 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 8 |
| presented to the family of Nancy Stannard as a symbol of our | 9 |
| sincere sympathy.
