| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert D. "Bob" Horner of Streator, who | 4 | | passed away on February 4, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Horner was born in Butler, Pennsylvania to | 6 | | Robert and Hettie (Steele) Horner on October 11, 1944; he moved | 7 | | to Illinois in 1961; he graduated from Marseilles High School | 8 | | in 1962; he graduated from Western Illinois University in 1967; | 9 | | he married Marcia I. Gilbertson in Marseilles on August 17, | 10 | | 1968; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bob Horner was a teacher and coach at Woodland | 12 | | High School; he retired in 2000 after 33 years of service; he | 13 | | later drove a school bus from 2004 until 2017; he was an | 14 | | Illinois High School Association (IHSA) official for | 15 | | basketball, baseball, and volleyball for 35 years; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bob Horner was a longtime member and Past Exalted | 17 | | Ruler of the Streator Elks Club; he was also a member of the | 18 | | Marshall County Sportsman's Club, where he served as secretary | 19 | | and director; he coached his son in youth baseball for many | 20 | | years; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his son | 21 | | and grandsons; he also liked gardening and growing raspberries | 22 | | for his family, especially the grandchildren; nothing was more |

| 3 | | WHEREAS, Bob Horner was preceded in death by his wife, | 4 | | Marcia; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Horner is survived by his son, Jeff (Staci) | 6 | | Horner; his grandchildren, Cahill, Caden, and Cambri Horner; | 7 | | and his sister, Elaine (Bill) Griglione; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Robert D. "Bob" Horner and extend our sincere condolences to | 11 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
