| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly are | 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of
United States Marine Corps | 4 | | Lance Corporal Nickolas Daniels of Elmwood Park, who passed | 5 | | away on November 5, 2011; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, L. Cpl. Nickolas Daniels graduated from St. | 7 | | Patrick High School in Chicago in 2004; he excelled in sports, | 8 | | especially football, where he played linebacker and made | 9 | | All-Conference his senior year; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After high school, L. Cpl. Nickolas Daniels went | 11 | | to college for a semester, but found out it was not for him; he | 12 | | then worked several jobs in Elmwood Park and coached football | 13 | | at his high school alma mater, but decided to join the United | 14 | | States Marine Corps because he believed it would help him reach | 15 | | his goal of becoming a police officer; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, L. Cpl. Nickolas Daniels served his country with | 17 | | pride as a member of the 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion of the | 18 | | 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force out of | 19 | | Twentynine Palms, California; after graduating from basic | 20 | | training in January of 2010, he was sent on his first | 21 | | deployment as a combat engineer on September 4, 2011; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, L. Cpl. Nickolas Daniels is survived by his | 2 | | parents, Greg and Debi; his siblings, Kati, Billy, and Lonny | 3 | | Daniels; and his fiancee, Katie O'Neil; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, L. Cpl. Nickolas Daniels' patriotism and courage | 5 | | will be remembered fondly by his loving family, his fellow | 6 | | soldiers, and the citizens of our grateful nation; therefore, | 7 | | be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 9 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | 10 | | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we mourn, along with his family | 11 | | and friends, the passing of United States Marine Corps Lance | 12 | | Corporal Nickolas Daniels; and be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of L. Cpl. Nickolas Daniels as an | 15 | | expression of our sympathy.
