| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Robert Lawrence "Bob" Powers, who | 4 | | passed away on March 29, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers was born in Toledo, Ohio to Laura and | 6 | | Edward Powers on November 18, 1939; he graduated from Central | 7 | | Catholic High School in Toledo and served in the United States | 8 | | Marine Corps; he married Bonnie in Toledo, and they relocated | 9 | | to Illinois in 1979; and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers worked in sales at National Standard, | 11 | | Walker/McLean Forge, Sulberg USA, and FPS Inc.; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers loved to mow, golf, sell and talk | 13 | | sickle guards, listen to music or talk radio while driving his | 14 | | Shelby, watch a good ball game, and, above all else, spend time | 15 | | with his family and friends; upon the passing of his wife, he | 16 | | raised his two young daughters with grace and purpose; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers made sure all who were important to | 18 | | him felt it and truly wanted the best for everyone he | 19 | | encountered; he worked and excelled in numerous fields and | 20 | | took pride in everything he did, most importantly what he | 21 | | could do for others; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers was preceded in death by his wife, | 2 | | Bonnie; his parents; and numerous beloved family and friends; | 3 | | and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers is survived by his sons, Robert E. | 5 | | (Tracey) and Christopher Powers; his daughters, Erin (Colton) | 6 | | Boggs and Katelyn (Trey Bergman) Powers; and his | 7 | | grandchildren, Robert T. Powers, Raegan Powers, Evelyn Boggs, | 8 | | and Holden Bergman; therefore, be it | 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Robert Lawrence "Bob" Powers and extend our sincere | 12 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 13 | | him; and be it further | 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Bob Powers as an expression of our | 16 | | deepest sympathy. |
