| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Shelley R. Rockwell of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on January 2, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell was born in Blue Island to | 6 | | Richard and Joanne Gower Rockwell on April 4, 1955; he served | 7 | | in the U.S. Navy; he married Sherri A. Phillips in East Moline | 8 | | on February 12, 1977; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell worked for John Deere Harvester | 10 | | Works for 31 years; he was a member of the United Auto Workers; | 11 | | and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell enjoyed riding his | 13 | | Harley-Davidson motorcycle and doing projects around his home; | 14 | | some of his favorite times were those spent with friends and | 15 | | family; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell was preceded in death by his | 17 | | parents; his brothers, Todd and Billy Rockwell; his sisters, | 18 | | Vickie Burns and Bridget Rockwell; his nephews, Shawn Rockwell | 19 | | Jr. and Christopher Rockwell; and his nieces, Angela Burns and | 20 | | Kelly Burns; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell is survived by his wife, Sherri; | 2 | | his children, April (Andrew) Peterson, Jason Rockwell, and | 3 | | Jessica Rockwell; his grandchildren, Logan Peterson, Colin | 4 | | Peterson, Austin Rockwell, Zariah Rockwell, Justice Rockwell, | 5 | | Asia Rockwell, and Mia Bovan; his great-grandchildren, Jaylin | 6 | | and Jaydin; his sister, Cynthia (David) Gibbs; his brother, | 7 | | Shawn Rockwell; his brother-in-law, J. Richard Burns; his | 8 | | sister-in-law, Mary Rockwell; and numerous nieces, nephews, | 9 | | and other family; therefore, be it | 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Shelley R. Rockwell and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further | 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Shelley Rockwell as an expression | 17 | | of our deepest sympathy. |
