| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Clyde D. McKenrick of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on November 9, 2023; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Clyde McKenrick was born to Homer and Mary | 6 | | McKenrick on February 13, 1929 and was raised on the family | 7 | | farm near Low Moor, Iowa; he attended Low Moor and Malone | 8 | | Elementary Schools, Elvira High School, and Coe College; he | 9 | | married Frances Lois McKenrick at Low Moor Methodist Church in | 10 | | Low Moor, Iowa on December 23, 1949; he served in the U.S. Army | 11 | | in Korea and at Wolters Air Force Base in Texas with the | 12 | | Special Category Army with Air Force from 1952 and 1953; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Clyde McKenrick worked at Curtis Brothers | 14 | | Woodwork from 1948 to 1952 and from 1953 to 1966, Standard | 15 | | Brands, also known as Clinton Corn Processing Co., from 1966 | 16 | | to 1982, and Indiana Sugars from 1982 to 1991; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Clyde McKenrick was a member of Riverside United | 18 | | Methodist Church, Camanche Masonic Lodge #60 A.F.A.M., where | 19 | | was a past master and 50-year member, Clinton Scottish Rite | 20 | | Bodies, Low Moor O.E.S., where he was a past patron, and the | 21 | | Korean War Veterans Association, where he served as the | 22 | | Illinois state secretary in 2014; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Clyde McKenrick was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents; two children; a great-granddaughter; a brother; and a | 3 | | niece; and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Clyde McKenrick is survived by his wife; his | 5 | | children, Beth E. Morrison and Gary D. (Kathryn) McKenrick; | 6 | | his grandchildren, Trisha A. (David) Hey, Brian K. (Erin) | 7 | | McKenrick, Patrick (Jami) Morrison, Richard Morrison, Amy | 8 | | Morrison, and Ann (Blake) Morrison; 12 great-grandchildren; | 9 | | and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it | 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Clyde D. McKenrick and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further | 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Clyde McKenrick as an expression of | 17 | | our deepest sympathy. |
