| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Freddie P. Taylor of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on September 27, 2023; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor was born in Huntingdon, Tennessee | 6 | | on January 20, 1938; he was raised by his mother, Hazel | 7 | | (Taylor) Harrison, and his grandparents, Emanuel Taylor and | 8 | | Bertie (Alexander) Taylor; he served in the U.S. Air Force | 9 | | during the Vietnam War; he married Kathy Jo McNamara, and she | 10 | | preceded him in death on December 3, 2020; he was previously | 11 | | married to Beverly Boyd; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor worked at John Deere, Service | 13 | | Rubber, and different nightclubs; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor loved fishing, hunting, bowling, | 15 | | playing cards, and watching sports and western movies; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor was preceded in death by his | 17 | | mother; his grandparents; his grandson, Jerrell Gabriel Sr.; | 18 | | his brother, Robert Taylor; his sister, Peggy Taylor; his | 19 | | niece, India Taylor; his aunt, Ida Mae Taylor; and his | 20 | | great-nephews, Eric Cunningham and Marcus Kelly; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Freddie Taylor is survived by his daughters, | 2 | | Yolanda Gabriel and Lita Taylor; his son, Rod Taylor; his | 3 | | grandson, Tremaine Gabriel; his stepchildren, Lisa Lema, | 4 | | Nicole (Daylen) Daniels, and Jason (Emily) Benge; a host of | 5 | | nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and | 6 | | his special friends who were like siblings, Darrell Lowe and | 7 | | Lori Hamilton; therefore, be it | 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Freddie P. Taylor and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further | 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Freddie Taylor as an expression of | 15 | | our deepest sympathy. |
