| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Jerry Michael "Mike" Hull of Monmouth, | 4 | | who passed away on August 16, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mike Hull was born to Jerry O. and Bette J. | 6 | | (Pirtle) Hull in Burlington, Iowa on November 21, 1949; he was | 7 | | raised and educated in Media, graduating from Media High | 8 | | School in 1967; he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to | 9 | | 1970, with a tour of duty in Vietnam; he married Elaine A. | 10 | | Blender at the Raritan Reformed Church in Raritan on August 9, | 11 | | 1969; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Mike Hull was a farmer for almost 50 years, | 13 | | raising livestock in Warren and Henderson counties; he also | 14 | | worked as a correctional officer at the Hill Correctional | 15 | | Center in Galesburg for 15 years before retiring in 2014; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Mike Hull was affectionately called "Grandpa | 17 | | Wishes"; he was known for his quick wit and loved telling | 18 | | stories, especially about his children and their childhood; | 19 | | and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Mike Hull was man of stability and generosity, | 21 | | modeling consistency and integrity, who dearly loved his |

| 1 | | family and took great pride in providing them with a stable | 2 | | home life; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Mike Hull was preceded in death by his parents | 4 | | and his sisters, Linda Gipe and Connie Mowen; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mike Hull is survived by his wife of 54 years, | 6 | | Elaine Hull; his daughters, Jera (Brad) Deal and Jona (Mark) | 7 | | Cox; his grandchildren, Allie (Gabe) Meister, Julianna Deal, | 8 | | Lily Deal, Mitchell Cox, Caden Cox, and Abby Cox; and his | 9 | | great-granddaughter, Mia Kate Meister; his siblings, Steve | 10 | | Hull and Penny Moore; and several nieces and nephews; | 11 | | therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Jerry Michael "Mike" Hull and extend our sincere condolences | 15 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 16 | | it further
