| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Earl Joseph Robbins of Aledo, who | 4 | | passed away on August 12, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Earl Robbins was born to Harold and Sarah Jane | 6 | | (Nichols) Robbins in Monmouth on July 3, 1933; he served in the | 7 | | U.S. Army from May 27, 1953 to May 26, 1955; he married Joyce | 8 | | McCaw at the Aledo United Methodist Church on September 5, | 9 | | 1953; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Earl Robbins farmed in the Ohio Grove Township | 11 | | for most of his life; in his earlier years, he also worked at | 12 | | the Viola Sale Barn and plowed snow for the State of Illinois; | 13 | | and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Earl Robbins served as a trustee of the Sunbeam | 15 | | United Presbyterian Church; he previously served as a trustee | 16 | | and elder at Burgess Presbyterian Church and as a trustee of | 17 | | the Ohio Grove Township; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Earl Robbins, who was known his ability to banter | 19 | | with anyone, enjoyed sitting and visiting with family and | 20 | | friends alike; in his spare time, he especially enjoyed | 21 | | attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and he most |

| 1 | | recently attended his great-grandson's t-ball game; he was an | 2 | | avid fisherman and loved camping with his family; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Earl Robbins was preceded in death by his parents | 4 | | and his siblings, Leonard Robbins, Leroy Robbins, and June | 5 | | Lowery; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Earl Robbins is survived by his wife; his | 7 | | children, Robert (Susan) Robbins, Ronald Robbins, and Renee | 8 | | (Steve) Lloyd; his grandchildren, Shay Robbins, Nick Robbins, | 9 | | Shantell Matney, Blake Robbins, Joe Elliott, Bree Wakeland, | 10 | | and Kevin Lloyd; 12 great-grandchildren; his godson, Rick | 11 | | Boruff; and his "adopted" sons, Mike and Steve Staker, Mike | 12 | | Crawford, and Todd Tracy; therefore, be it
