| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Robert M. "Bob" Loter of Hamilton, who | 4 | | passed away on February 14, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Loter was born to George W. and Cathrine E. | 6 | | (Leeper) Loter in Keokuk, Iowa on December 6, 1938; he | 7 | | graduated from Warsaw High School in 1956; he served in the | 8 | | U.S. Army in California and Korea, and he was honorably | 9 | | discharged in February 1959; he married Judith A. (Frakes) | 10 | | Davis on November 4, 1960; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, After returning home, Bob Loter worked at the | 12 | | Warsaw Battery Factory and Keokuk Electric Metals; he was | 13 | | employed by General Mills in Keokuk in 1966; he retired from | 14 | | Ogilvie Mills in 1985; he went to work for Dallas City and | 15 | | Keokuk Homestore Lumber Yards, retiring in 2009; he also | 16 | | delivered the Daily Gate City Newspaper in Warsaw for over six | 17 | | years; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Growing up, Bob Loter was a member of Sacred | 19 | | Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw, where he served as an altar | 20 | | boy for six years; at the time of his passing, he was an active | 21 | | member of the Church of All Saints in Keokuk; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bob Loter enjoyed roller skating and riding his | 2 | | bike; he was known for his carpentry skills, and he made | 3 | | several pieces of furniture for his older granddaughters; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Bob Loter was preceded in death by his parents; | 5 | | his brother, Richard Loter; his sister, Patricia Loter; and | 6 | | his brother in infancy; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Bob Loter is survived by his wife of 63 years, | 8 | | Judith; his daughters, Jackie Householder and Leisa (Jerry) | 9 | | McCredie; his son, Todd W. Loter; his nine grandchildren; his | 10 | | 18 great-grandchildren; his three great-great-grandchildren, | 11 | | with two on the way; and his sister, Sharon Loter; therefore, | 12 | | be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 15 | | Robert M. "Bob" Loter and extend our sincere
condolences to | 16 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 17 | | further
| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| 19 | | presented to the family of Bob Loter as an expression of
our | 20 | | deepest sympathy.
