AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3599

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3599 on page 7, by
3replacing lines 19 through 24 with the following:
4    "services.
5    (a) In this Section:
6    "Eligible recipient" means an individual who has received
7hospital emergency department services 3 or more times in a
8period of 4 consecutive months in the past 12 months or an
9individual who has been identified by a health care provider
10as an individual for whom mobile integrated health care
11services would likely prevent admission or readmission to or
12would allow discharge from a hospital, behavioral health
13facility, acute care facility, or nursing facility.
14    "Mobile integrated health care services" means medically
15necessary health services provided on-site by emergency
16medical services personnel, as defined in Section 5 of the
17Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act.
18    "Mobile integrated health care services" includes health

1assessment, chronic disease monitoring and education,
2medication compliance, immunizations and vaccinations,
3laboratory specimen collection, hospital discharge follow-up
4care, and minor medical procedures as approved by the
5applicable EMS Medical Director.
6    "Mobile integrated health care services" does not include
7nonemergency ambulance transport.
8    (b) A group or individual policy of accident and health
9insurance or a managed care plan that is amended, delivered,
10issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2026, shall provide
11coverage to an eligible recipient for medically necessary
12mobile integrated health care services.".
