| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2850 by replacing | 3 | | everything after the enacting clause with the following: | 4 | | "Section 5. The River Conservancy Districts Act is amended | 5 | | by changing Section 6 as follows: | 6 | | (70 ILCS 2105/6) (from Ch. 42, par. 388) | 7 | | Sec. 6. The board of trustees shall exercise all of the | 8 | | powers and control the affairs and property of the district. | 9 | | The board at their first meeting in May of each year shall | 10 | | elect one of their number as president, one of their number as | 11 | | vice-president and one of their number as secretary. The board | 12 | | may appoint an engineer who may be an individual, | 13 | | co-partnership or corporation, an attorney, an executive | 14 | | vice-president, a manager, a treasurer, and other engineers, | 15 | | attorneys, agents, clerks and assistants for the district who | 16 | | shall hold office during the pleasure of the board and who |

| 1 | | shall give such bond as the board may require. The board may | 2 | | prescribe the duties and fix the compensation of all the | 3 | | officers and employees of the district. A member of the board | 4 | | may not receive more than $6,000 $3,000 per annum. At the | 5 | | Board's discretion, the Board may adjust the compensation | 6 | | amounts for inflation as determined by the Consumer Price | 7 | | Index for All Urban Consumers for all items published by the | 8 | | United States Department of Labor and rounded to the nearest | 9 | | $100. The Board members shall also be reimbursed for ordinary | 10 | | and necessary expenses incurred in performing the member's | 11 | | duties under this Act. The board may pass all necessary | 12 | | ordinances, rules and regulations. | 13 | | (Source: P.A. 79-1454.) | 14 | | Section 10. The Fox Waterway Agency Act is amended by | 15 | | changing Section 6 as follows: | 16 | | (615 ILCS 90/6) (from Ch. 19, par. 1206) | 17 | | Sec. 6. The Board shall meet as soon as practicable after | 18 | | the directors assume the duties of office and shall meet at | 19 | | least 6 times annually or more often at the discretion of the | 20 | | Chairman or upon the request of 2/3 of the directors. The Board | 21 | | shall select from its membership a Secretary and a Treasurer. | 22 | | The Treasurer shall be custodian of all Agency funds and shall | 23 | | be bonded in such amount as the other members designate. Directors and the Chairman may be compensated at the | 3 | | discretion of the Board in the sum of up to $6,000 $3,000 per | 4 | | year for each director and up to $10,000 $5,000 per year for | 5 | | the chairman, effective immediately upon approval of the | 6 | | Board. At the Board's discretion, the Board may adjust the | 7 | | compensation amounts for inflation as determined by the | 8 | | Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers for all items | 9 | | published by the United States Department of Labor and rounded | 10 | | to the nearest $100. The Board members shall also be | 11 | | reimbursed for ordinary and necessary expenses incurred in | 12 | | performing their duties under this Act. The Board shall | 13 | | appoint a person to serve as executive director, who shall act | 14 | | as the chief administrative officer of the Agency and oversee | 15 | | and administer the daily function and staff of the Agency, in | 16 | | accordance with Board policy.
