| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Jacob Williams on his | 4 | | recent success at the Grand Lodge National Hoop Shot | 5 | | Championship; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, Nine-year-old free throw shooter Jacob Williams | 7 | | began playing basketball at the age of four, following in the | 8 | | footsteps of his brother, father, and grandfather who all | 9 | | played when they were younger; and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Jacob Williams recently placed third at the Grand | 11 | | Lodge National Hoop Shot Championship; there were a total of | 12 | | 12 contestants in his age group of eight-to-nine year olds, | 13 | | and he tied for third place with two other boys, having made 22 | 14 | | out of 25 shots; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, In the subsequent shoot off, Jacob made five out | 16 | | of five shots, pulling ahead of the other two boys, one from | 17 | | Idaho and one from Maryland, who both made four out of five | 18 | | shots; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Jacob Williams had previously placed first at the | 20 | | Jacksonville Elks Hoop Shot in Jacksonville, Illinois, the | 21 | | Elks District Hoop Shot in Jacksonville, Illinois, the |

| 1 | | Illinois Elks Hoop Shot in Springfield, Illinois, and the Elks | 2 | | Regional Hoop Shoot in Iowa City, Iowa; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Jacob is a student at Winchester Grade School and | 4 | | is the son of Sean and Katie Williams; therefore, be it | 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 6 | | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 7 | | we congratulate Jacob Williams for his excellent performance | 8 | | this season and wish him continued success in the future; and | 9 | | be it further | 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copies of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to Jacob Williams and his family as a symbol of our | 12 | | esteem and respect. |
