| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mark R. | 4 | | Einwich of St. Charles, formerly of Burlington and Elgin, who | 5 | | passed away on March 7, 2023; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Mark Einwich was born to Otto Einwich Jr. and | 7 | | Judy Einwich in Elgin on January 31, 1968; he was raised in | 8 | | Elgin and graduated from Burlington Central High School in | 9 | | 1986; he earned his associate's degree from Elgin Community | 10 | | College and attended the Illinois Fire Service Institute and | 11 | | the National Fire Academy; he married Angela "Angie" Koukol; | 12 | | and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Mark Einwich was a 30-year member of the Geneva | 14 | | Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of deputy chief of | 15 | | Operations prior to his retirement on November 1, 2022; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Mark Einwich remained an active member of the | 17 | | Burlington Community Fire Protection District since starting | 18 | | there in 1992, rising to the rank of deputy chief; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Mark Einwich's commitment to public service was | 20 | | extensive, and he previously served on the Pingree Grove and | 21 | | Countryside Fire Protection District from 1986 to 1993 and |

| 1 | | additionally as a telecommunicator for the Kane County | 2 | | Sheriff's Office from 1988 to 1993; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Mark Einwich announced basketball and football | 4 | | games at Burlington Central High School for over 30 years, | 5 | | becoming known the "Voice of the Rockets"; through his booming | 6 | | voice and kind demeanor, he touched the lives of generations | 7 | | of students and spectators of Burlington Central High School | 8 | | Athletics; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Mark Einwich was inducted into the Burlington | 10 | | Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Mark Einwich is survived by his wife, Angie; his | 12 | | parents; his children, Carolyn (Jeff Barnes) Thompson, Liz | 13 | | (Jordan) Stallman, Madison (Tim Laird) Einwich, Rhett Einwich, | 14 | | Caden Einwich, and Wyatt Einwich; his grandchildren, Tahlia, | 15 | | Charlotte, Kayce, Elena, and Riley; and several aunts, | 16 | | cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 18 | | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 19 | | we mourn the passing of Mark R. Einwich and extend our sincere | 20 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 21 | | him; and be it further
