AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4754

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4754 on page 3, line 15, after "Police" by inserting "and the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority"; and

on page 3, line 17, after the period, by inserting "The Illinois State Police and the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority may publish and make publicly available the information provided under subsection (b)."; and

on page 3, line 18, after "its", by inserting "public"; and

by replacing line 23 on page 3 through line 1 on page 4 with the following:

"(2) How many nonfatal shootings occurred in a month;

(3) how many of the homicides and nonfatal shootings described in paragraphs (1) and (2) had an alleged perpetrator arrested and charged;

(4) how many homicides and nonfatal shootings described in paragraphs (1) and (2) are considered cleared or closed for a reason other than the arrest and charging of an alleged perpetrator;

(5) how many cases were cleared because the alleged perpetrator is deceased, the case was rejected by the prosecutor, the suspect is currently incarcerated, or other exceptional means outside of law enforcement's control; and

(6) how many of the cases described in paragraphs (1) and (2) were referred to the relevant State's Attorney office for prosecution.".
