AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2767

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2767 on page 2,
3line 6, by inserting after "system" the following:
4"that is specifically designated to detain or incarcerate
5youth. "County-operated juvenile detention center" does not
6include police or other temporary law enforcement holding
7locations."; and
 
8on page 6, by replacing lines 1 through 4 with the following:
9"the Director of Juvenile Justice and the Governor, and for
10cases that arise in county-operated juvenile detention
11centers, to the chief judge of the applicable judicial circuit
12and the Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois
13Courts:"; and
 
14on page 10, by replacing lines 21 through 25 with the
15following:
16    "With respect to county-operated juvenile detention

1centers, the Ombudsman shall provide data responsive to
2paragraphs (1) through (3) to the chief judge of the
3applicable judicial circuit and to the Director of the
4Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, and shall make
5the data publicly available."; and
 
6on page 12, by inserting immediately below line 20 the
7following:
 
8    "Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
9January 1, 2025.".
