AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 778

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 778 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Department of Professional Regulation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 2105-405 as follows:

(20 ILCS 2105/2105-405 new)

Sec. 2105-405. Clinical readiness program for international medical graduates.

(a) The clinical readiness program is established in the Department to provide direct services to international medical graduates wishing to reestablish the graduates' medical careers and seek residency in this State. The clinical readiness program will allow international medical graduates to build the graduates' experiences without relying on limited networks or funds, while building relationships between residency sites and international medical graduates that lead to greater placement rates.

(b) The clinical readiness program shall assist international medical graduates in building the skills necessary to become successful residents in the United States medical system, including, but not limited to, gaining clinical experiences and getting letters of recommendation.".
