1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 612
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 612, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No.
4 1, on page 1, line 13, by replacing "2023" with "2024"; and

5 on page 2, line 17, by replacing "2023" with "2022"; and

6 on page 3, by replacing lines 4 through 10 with the following:
7         "(4) (Blank). ~~for taxable year 2023 and thereafter, if~~
8     ~~the taxpayer is the surviving spouse of a veteran whose~~
9     ~~death was determined to be service-connected and who is~~
10     ~~certified by the United States Department of Veterans~~
11     ~~Affairs as a recipient of dependency and indemnity~~
12     ~~compensation under federal law, then the property is also~~
13     ~~exempt from taxation under this Code.~~"; and

14 on page 3, line 11, by replacing "2024" with "2023"; and
